LA APPAREL
HEAVYTEX embraces Los Angeles Apparel’s vision of the blank as a true garment: bold cuts, carefully crafted fabrics, vibrant colors, and production right here in Los Angeles. A curated selection focused on the pieces with the most presence and character.
HEAVYTEX × LOS ANGELES APPAREL
Founded in Los Angeles in 2016 by Dov Charney, the well-known and controversial founder of American Apparel, Los Angeles Apparel has developed a vision of blank apparel deeply rooted in fabric, fit and a strong commitment to local production.
The brand manufactures in Los Angeles in its own factory, with fully integrated production on site. A true Made in Los Angeles approach that lies at the heart of its identity.
The blank as a silhouette: at LA Apparel, a T-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie is more than just a base garment. The volumes, weights, treatments and colours already give each piece a distinctive identity.
This approach has also found its place in contemporary culture: Ye (Kanye West) has worked with Dov Charney and Los Angeles Apparel on several projects, including textile production related to Yeezy. This connection illustrates LA Apparel’s distinctive position at the intersection of blank apparel, fashion, merch and visual culture.
The HEAVYTEX selection does not aim to carry the entire range. Instead, it focuses on the pieces that best express this vision: distinctive cuts, dense fabrics, considered colours and garments that can stand on their own just as well as they can be transformed.
HEAVYTEX chose Los Angeles Apparel for its ability to turn a blank into a garment in its own right, with a silhouette, fabric and presence that are instantly recognisable.
